Tandem Gates, a simple solution for homeowners with a small driveway.

Adding a driveway gate can be beneficial to your home, they add security and privacy by providing limited access to your front or backyard. In addition, driveway gates can add value to your home by enhancing its curb appeal and some insurance providers even apply discounts for homes with gates.  With these benefits in mind, there’s no question that a driveway gate can be a great investment, but what happens when you don’t have enough space in your driveway to install a gate? The answer is simple, go tandem! Tandem gates, that is.

Tandem gates, also known as bi-parting or telescopic gates are not new to the market, but you don’t see them that often because they tend to be more expensive than their counterparts. They were born as a need for homeowners without enough space for a gate in their driveway but who still wanted the functionality and appeal of a driveway gate. The gates consist of two to three panels that slide next to the wall adjacent to the gate.

These driveway gates can be custom made with iron, metal or wood depending on your preference.  The added hardware and materials make these gates a bit pricier than the traditional driveway gates, but the durability, reliability and functionality are about the same.  For homeowners with limited space in their driveway, a tandem gate is a great option.

Not all gate companies build these gates as they are more technical, so be sure to check with your local gate company to see if they build this style of gate.
